Why Courchevel 1850

Courchevel 1850 is the highest and best known of the four Courchevel villages, sitting at 1,850 metres with direct access to Les 3 Vallées — the largest linked ski area in the world. It is the address for high-end chalets, Michelin-starred restaurants and immaculately groomed pistes, and it stays lively from first lifts to late evening.

Getting there

We drive to Courchevel 1850 from Geneva, Lyon, Chambéry and Grenoble airports — see the table above for approximate times and prices. The final stretch climbs from Moûtiers through a long series of hairpins, which is where winter tyres and a driver who knows the road actually matter. On Saturday changeover days this climb can add time, so we build that into the plan.

Good to know

Courchevel 1850 spreads across Jardin Alpin, the Croisette and the Cospillot side, and the right drop-off depends on your exact chalet or hotel — send us the address and we will take you to the door rather than the village centre. If you are arriving with ski or board bags, tell us when you book so we allocate the right vehicle.
